March 28, 1954 Camp Boredom My Dearest Wanda, Guess I'd better get a letter started this morning while it's still cool. We will be leaving for the beach party soon. I got up at 6 this morning - that makes me mad I can't sleep late when I could lay in the rack all day if I wanted to. Now if I was home, I'd go get a newspaper, then crawl back in the bed with you, read the paper, then a little loving, then go back to sleep again. Honey, that was living - you sure did spoil me - won't be long and you can spoil me some more. I went to the roast yesterday afternoon and stayed until the pig disappeared - it was pretty good - a little fat though. I left because everyone was drinking and were getting pretty loud - those parties usually end up with a free for all. I saw the Bn personnel Sgt. Major - he told me some good news. My orders have been cancelled again - that will mean another month or so we'll have. Back again - we left for the beach about 10 and got back around 4. I really had a good time today and the time just flew by. I spent the day under water. I got a water goggles with a snorkel on it and a six foot spear. It is really fun to look around under water. I got two fish and two lobsters. I saw about every kind of fish there is - all colors and size. The prettiest was a blue and gold fish about half an inch long, even saw a barracuda. We looked at each other for a minute then he swam off - I was about to high-tail it as he was about three feet long. That was really fun - I'm going again next week. I still need some fins as they make swimming a lot easier. Ryan and that bunch got back and said they had a good time. I bet I had a better time at the beach. I didn't get any mail tonight, it hurts, but I didn't really expect any as the last one I got was dated the 24th. I'll get three or four Tuesday.
