March 24, 1954 Vieques, P.R. My Dearest Wanda, I'm sorry I didn't get to write last nite, but we got in kinda late and I had to wash some clothes. We're on water haves now and the water goes off at 10 every nite. Boy we're really working - the boys worked until ten thirty last nite. I took off early so I could get my washing done. Today we had another problem with the infantry. Tomorrow we will fire live rounds over the infantry. With this bunch of meatheads I have, someone might get hurt. They're doing good work but are stupid. Well just got another fat letter to answer. Wanda you're wonderful and your letters are just as good - I'm glad you're mine. I could never find anyone that could be a better wife and satisfy me like you do. Honey, these horny letters are going to get me in trouble - I'll just have to go over the hill and give you some loving. Nope I just play with lizards now. That this in yours to play with. I think taking Mom home when I get this is a good idea. I'm selfish too. I just want you and have no one else around to interfere. Only bad thing about that is I'll have to be away from you long enough to run her home - maybe we could talk her into taking a bus - be a lot cheaper! As I said before you and mom work it out together - her feelings won't be hurt, don't worry about that. Might be a good idea putting that plastic on the bed cause I'll really make a mess if any playing goes on. OK have it full stitched the way I feel now I could blast a hole in a piece of granite. Wanda please don't let me hurt me when I get home - maybe we'd better break out my pogy rope [not sure what this means]. No Wanda I do not have my heart set on a boy - I just want it to be alright. Wanda I don't want to go on liberty, I just want to get back with you again. Anyway it's to much trouble to get dressed in khaki. You know that "sore pisser" is nothing to worry about. We were talking about it the other nite and just about all of these guys wife have had it some time or another - guess it could give you trouble if you just let it go. I don't have any bitches about the mail. I'm getting some of your letters in two days. Only gripe I have is I can't be with you now, but we can ask for it. Wanda being in service isn't bad at all, it's just this separation from you that I don't like - better shut up before I start feeling sorry for myself. Honey I'd never stop loving you, not even for one minute. I know you love me and wouldn't step out on me, that is the least of my worries. You know I love you and that baby, Wanda you two are all I live for and I wouldn't take anything for either of you. Wanda I'm sorry you found out about those orders. I told Wiggins to tell Margaret not to tell you. I guess she figured it was OK after she found out they were cancelled. I'm a little sorry I didn't tell you but I didn't think it would do you any good. The nite I wrote about it I didn't know I had orders, but knew Wiggins did. I found out about mine the next day. Darling please don't worry about it cause you have enough to worry about as it is. I want you to think of loving that baby and nothing else. Everything will turn out OK, then when I get home you'll have two of us to love and won't have time to think about anything else. Wanda that is the only way we can be happy and keep loving the other as we do now, just take things as they come. So far we've been able to reach an agreement on everything we've come up against. Let's be like that forever. I never to say a crossword to you and I don't want to hear any from you. It would kill me if anything happened to you. Darling I love you more than is possible - I know I do. I'd better shut up for now Wanda - as we have to get up a little early in the morning. We're having a movie tonite for the first time on over a week. You really miss things like that when there's nothing else to do except sit around and think.
