March 21, 1954 Vieques, P.R. My Darling Wanda, Back again after a rough day. We had the beach party and really had a good time - well anyway it makes the time go by faster - darling I can hardly wait until I'm with you again. Tell you right now Wanda I'm in a blue mood and don't have any business writing. We finally got us a radio and now Guy Lombardo is going through a couple numbers - boy that kind of music really gets next to you - especially when I feel like I do now. When I wrote yesterday I thought I'd get some mail last nite - but didn't - not from you. The last letter I had from you was mailed the 16th and I got it the 18th - guess that's why I didn't get any yesterday. I had a letter from Mom (really) and got a war bond. I'll send it to you in case you need to cash it. Mom didn't have to much to say - besides telling of her troubles. She did say that you had the largest shower she'd ever heard of and I was the luckiest man alive because I had you. Wanda, I know I've lucky - sometimes I get kinda shook because I can't find any fault with you. Darling I love you - you love me and that's the only way it should be. Tell Daryl not to feel bad. I took a spill today while chasing coconuts, fell about 20 ft, didn't hurt me. We had a contest to see who could climb a tree, drop three coconuts and climb down again. I lost, but I climbed down quicker than anyone else. It's a good thin I fell in sand. We also played water football - the sea is now a couple of inches shallower. Think I swallowed a few gallons. Lot of fun though next Sunday I'm gonna get a spear, goggles and fins and chase some lobsters and fish. Honey I'll have to shut up for now as the mail jeep is waiting on my letter and I can't hold it up much longer. Darling always remember I love you and need you for always.
