March 14, 1954 Vieques, P.R. My Darling Wife, Received two of your letters tonite, Wanda as always was really glad to hear from you, but some of the things you had to say kinda worried me - you don't see as happy baby as you should be. Wanda please don't say things until you think them over. I don't know, maybe I'm a little shook up. Wiggins has a friend whose wife says he had orders for Korea - he and ten other staff. Of course that isn't official but believe you me Wanda he is shook. I'm a little shook too, one of those ten may be me. If so, I have it made - if you're over six months gone I can stay until the baby comes. Wanda in the mood I'm in tonite I shouldn't even be writing because this letter won't make you feel any better. There's a few things I must say before I can sleep. First of all I love you darling and nothing in this whole wide world could replace you. I want you and nothing else. Wanda, this time when I get back I will be able to get closer to you than I have ever been, boy wonders or no. You've been mine far longer and you'll be a helluva lot closer - honey I love you more and more as time goes by, and nothing will keep me from you. Baby please don't sound so disgusted - you can't love me as much when you're that way. O.K so we owe the dentist $16. Wanda that is for your own good - that is a good $16 investment, don't worry about it, we'll get it paid, he dam sure can't take the fillings our of your mouth. So you weren't born rich, you married me, a somebody that has nothing. Wanda are you sorry we're staying in the M.C.? If so we'll get out in 59 - all I want to do is keep you happy - I don't care what I have to do. As I said last nite I don't think we'll have to borrow any money. If you see we have to - go ahead. Wanda we're not the only ones that have troubles - look around you'll see alot of people that are alot more unhappy than we are. Wanda I know you'll be glad to get back to Lejeune as it won't be much longer until I'll be with you. You're all I want. Once again, Wanda your only worry seems to be money. I'll send you ever cent I can - we will come out O.K. I know we have alot of debts but we can make it, please darling don't worry about it. Baby I don't need one red cent to live down here, so I don't need any of our money - it's all yours to put on our bills. I'm glad to hear you're resting better, please Wanda take care of yourself - you're all I have. Wand I love you and you do worry me by some of the things you write - I do not want you to worry about anything, it's not good for us. No Wanda I do not have as much time to write as you do. But I'll never be to busy to at least let you know I still love you. Even if you don't hear from me, always remember, you're all I have and I'll always love you. We have a pretty easy week coming up so I will have more time to write. Now Wanda the baby will start hurting you more - you may even regret you're having it at times. But honey comes pain and what have you the baby will be worth it to us. Wanda it was sorry of my people not showing up for the shower. But you must look at it like this. Most of those people hardly know you. Our baby only seems important to you and I. really that's the only way it should be. It will be all ours - I don't want anyone else to like it - I'm selfish - I want it just for you and me. Wanda I do think you silly for feeling that way about a little thing as a shower. Shower or no shower, that baby will have everything it will ever need - remember that Wanda. Honey I'll close for now and will answer your other letters tomorrow.
