February 26, 1954 Vieques, P.R. Hi Baby, We landed about 11:30 this morning and have been running around like chickens with their heads cut off. We could have landed at 9:00 but the light wasn't right for the cameras. Boy this Hollywood outfit is gonna give us a hard time. We go to the field in the morning at 7:30 reason! - make damn pictures. Had one bit of good news though. We go to the field the 4th but won't be committed until the 9th til the 11th, of course that can always be changed. Heres the bad news. Something happened to my pay this time I didn't get but $26. today. I don't know what the scoop is: unless it could be that bond. Wanda that is going to hurt us, if they've shorted me maybe it will be made up next payday. The rent will have to come out of your check, so send that as soon as you can, as it will be overdue. I've decided not to pull any liberty so that will save a little. I'm keeping back $10. sending you the rest. Baby thanks a million for the (5) letters they were really a morale builder, in then you told me exactly what I wanted you to tell me, "I love you." Wanda I know you love me and that the only way it should be, because I love you more than anything could be loved. This will be a short letter as its nearly dark. We will be sleeping in the boondocks until next week, that means no letter writing after dark. I'll answer your letters tomorrow.
