February 15, 1954 Morehead City, N.C. My Darling, I'm finally getting time to write still don't have much to gab about. Wanda that was the sweetest letter you've ever written - I read it on the way up the waterway yesterday. Wanda, I really hated to leave you - but had to. I miss you already and I won't be satisfied until I can be with you again. I love you more and more every day - that hurts still love it though. This will be the last you'll hear from me until we get to Vieques (25th). You should get mail the 1st of March. Honey please don't worry about me or anything else - everything will be alright. Just keep on loving me every day then when I get back you can just love me to death. You know we have alot to look forward to this time - more than last year - I think. We loaded aboard the ship this morning and we'll leave for Onslow beach tomorrow. Lorie hasn't had her baby yet she and Jack came up yesterday - boy I'd be all shook up if I were in his place.
